Thompson Hine LLP is pleased to announce that&nbsp;<a href="https://www.thompsonhine.com/professionals/shapiro-joshua" target="_self" rel="noopener">Joshua L. Shapiro</a> has joined the firm as a partner in the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.thompsonhine.com/services/antitrust-competition-and-distribution" target="_self" rel="noopener">Antitrust, Competition &amp; Distribution</a> practice group in New York. He joins the firm from Allen &amp; Overy.

Shapiro focuses his practice on guiding clients through the antitrust review of mergers and acquisitions, from deal inception and risk assessment to clearance by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission and Department of Justice. He also provides strategic advice and antitrust counseling to U.S. and foreign clients on critical competition questions and has extensive antitrust litigation experience.

Shapiro’s experience includes secondment as antitrust counsel in the London office of a global financial institution, where he provided antitrust counseling and served as in-house counsel for cross-jurisdictional internal investigations and litigation.

He was a member of the New York City Bar Association’s Antitrust and Trade Regulation Committee from 2016 to 2019 and has been included on the New York Super Lawyers Rising Stars list.

Shapiro earned his J.D., with honors, from Emory University School of Law and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Amherst College. Immediately following law school, he served as a judicial law clerk for the Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama.
