Nick, an attorney in the Real Estate group, represents buyers, sellers, lenders, and borrowers in commercial property transactions. His experience encompasses advising on commercial leasing, complex capital structures, and joint ventures. He has a deep understanding of his investor clients’ perspective as a result of his original career, in which he founded an apartment investment group.

Nick and his wife are the proud stewards of Stone Mad Pub, one of Cleveland’s most beloved Irish pubs.

  • Representing a developer as the GP in the formation of a joint venture with an institutional capital provider as limited partner and bank lender for the ground-up development of a Class A student housing facility in Massachusetts.
  • Representing a private equity firm as the LP in the formation of a joint venture with an institutional student housing operator as the general partner and a bank lender for the purposes of closing on a multi-tranche land assemblage and the ground-up development of a new Class A student housing facility in Wisconsin.
  • Representing the lender in the closing of purchase financing related to a portfolio of student housing facilities located across multiple states.
  • Representing a family office in the acquisition of multiple commercial properties including mixed-use, multifamily, restaurant and net lease retail, including the negotiation of attendant acquisition financing with a variety of bank and agency lenders.
  • Performing title and survey reviews for large-scale portfolio transactions involving diverse asset classes, including net lease retail, industrial, medical office, multifamily, student housing, and ranch land with complex water and mineral rights issues.
