Thompson Hine Bolsters National Reach with New York Labor & Employment Partner Steven Nevolis

Thompson Hine LLP

Thompson Hine LLP, a national law firm recognized for its innovation focus, announced today that Steven R. Nevolis has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner in its Labor & Employment practice group. Nevolis brings broad management-side expertise, including extensive experience assisting employers in handling traditional labor relations issues in unionized workforces, employment litigation, addressing day-to-day employment counseling issues, and conducting labor and employment due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.

Nevolis is the latest addition to Thompson Hine’s expanding Labor & Employment team, following the March 2026 arrival of partner Heather Renée Adams, who strengthens the firm’s presence in Chicago and Columbus with her deep traditional labor and employment litigation capabilities. Together, these hires underscore the firm’s continued national investment in strengthening its full-service labor and employment platform.

“Thompson Hine is the right place to take my practice to the next level,” Nevolis said. “The firm offers a full-spectrum labor and employment practice within a strong general practice firm, and its fully integrated corporate, immigration, and employee benefits and executive compensation practices will enable me to deliver coordinated, comprehensive counsel to clients across every workforce issue. The firm’s deep bench of resources nationwide allows it to leverage competitive rate structures and seasoned talent, providing a greater value proposition to clients with national operations. I was also drawn to Thompson Hine’s entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative culture, which create the ideal environment to grow and serve clients with the creativity and efficiency they deserve.”

Nevolis serves clients across a diverse range of industries, including hospitality, healthcare, food and beverage, retail, and manufacturing. His in-house experience as assistant general counsel at Maimonides Medical Center, the largest independent hospital in Brooklyn, gives him a distinctive perspective on the practical needs of institutional clients, having served as the primary attorney responsible for all labor and employment matters during a tumultuous post-pandemic environment that was challenging for all employers.

“Steve’s deep traditional labor experience and management-side litigation practice are exactly what our clients need as they navigate increasingly complex workforce challenges,” said Nancy Barnes, Thompson Hine’s Labor & Employment practice group leader. “His ability to handle the full spectrum of labor and employment matters – from collective bargaining and labor arbitration to employment litigation and transactional due diligence – strengthens our bench and positions us to deliver seamless, coast-to-coast support.”
