Thompson Hine LLP is pleased to announce that <a href="/professionals/tanya-c-nesbitt/">Tanya Nesbitt</a> has joined the firm as a partner in its <a href="https://www.thompsonhine.com/services/environmental/">Environmental</a> practice in Atlanta.

Nesbitt’s practice includes representing public and private clients under a multitude of federal and state laws with emphasis on environmental permitting, natural resource and land management and wildlife management. With over a decade of litigation experience in private practice and the federal government, she also has litigated complex environmental matters arising under NEPA, FLPMA, CERCLA and other federal resource management statutes.

Nesbitt’s experience includes serving as <a>a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Natural Resources Division</a>, where she handled a diverse docket of natural resources matters, including representing the Bureau of Land Management and Forest Service in Greater Sage-Grouse litigation. She also served as an <a>Assistant United States Attorney for the U.S. Attorney’s Office</a> in Washington, D.C., where she handled 35 first-chair bench trials.

<a>Nesbitt has received industry recognition, including from </a>The National Black Lawyers 40 Under 40, and is the Co-Chair of Publications of the American Bar Association’s Public Land and Resources Committee of the Section of Environment, Energy and Resources. In 2018, she earned the Department of Justice Award for Outstanding Service.

Nesbitt earned her J.D. from The George Washington University Law School and her B.A. from Smith College.
