EEO-1 Survey Deadline Extended Until May 31, 2019

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) announced on February 1, 2019, that the annual EEO-1 Survey filing deadline has been extended until May 31, 2019. Due to the recent partial government shutdown, during which the EEOC suspended operations, the agency has delayed the opening of the EEO-1 Survey until early March 2019. The EEOC stated that additional details and instructions for the EEO-1 Survey, including the exact date that the survey will open, will be issued in the near future.
In light of this extension, employers now have additional time to compile and prepare the data necessary for completion of their annual EEO-1 Survey. Once the survey opens, all private employers with at least 100 employees must complete and file an EEO-1 Survey by May 31, 2019. EEO-1 Surveys are also required for any prime government contractors or first-tier contractors with at least 50 employees and a contract, subcontract or purchase order of at least $50,000.
