Christie is a partner in the firm’s Transportation group. Her practice focuses on regulatory and compliance issues facing the transportation industry, with experience in motor vehicle safety matters, automotive safety recalls, compliance with federal safety standards, and government investigations and enforcement proceedings involving the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). She counsels vehicle manufacturers, equipment suppliers, technology companies, autonomous and advanced technology developers, and emerging-market entrants on navigating the evolving regulatory framework, including helping clients bring innovative technologies and products to market. Christie brings both practical and creative solutions to address regulatory concerns, anticipate pitfalls, and mitigate potentially adverse outcomes.

Before returning to private practice, Christie served as a senior trial attorney in the Litigation and Enforcement division at NHTSA, where she advised the agency on matters involving legal authority, regulatory risk, and complex safety investigations. She played a leading role in one of the largest and most complex consumer product recalls in U.S. history involving defective airbags and provided comprehensive legal support in the agency’s oversight and investigation of vehicle and equipment manufacturers concerning safety-related defects, noncompliance with federal safety standards, and other violations of the Vehicle Safety Act. Her experience inside the agency gives her valuable insight into NHTSA’s investigative processes, enforcement priorities, and regulatory expectations.
