Thompson Hine LLP is pleased to announce that David Schwartz, practice group leader of the firm’s International Trade practice, has been reappointed to the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) Chapter 10 Binational Panel Roster on behalf of the United States for the 2022-2023 term. The panelists play a critical role in helping resolve trade disputes between the U.S., Mexico and Canada. The USMCA provides an independent binational dispute settlement panel process as an alternative to judicial review by the parties’ domestic courts.

The USMCA updated and replaced the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) on July 1, 2020. David previously served for 15 years on the U.S. NAFTA Chapter 19 roster to hear disputes under the trade remedy laws.
