Thompson Hine is pleased to announce that&nbsp;<a href="https://www.thompsonhine.com/professionals/jones-tarnetta" target="_self" rel="noopener">Tarnetta V. Jones</a> has joined the firm as senior counsel in the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.thompsonhine.com/services/commercial-amp-public-finance" target="_self" rel="noopener">Commercial &amp; Public Finance practice</a> in New York. Jones’ practice spans a variety of industries, including financial services, digital media and technology, manufacturing, education, retail and telecommunications.

Prior to joining Thompson Hine, Jones represented a number of leading publicly traded and privately held entities, both U.S. and foreign. After working at two global top-tier law firms, where she served as partner to one, Jones founded and served as CEO of a legal and strategic services firm, where she gained in-house corporate, transactional and commercial legal experience; advised C-suite executives of multinational financial institutions; and assisted entrepreneurs and founders of early stage startup companies.

Mason, partner in charge of the firm’s New York office. “Tarnetta’s practice greatly complements and enhances our client service offerings, and her vast financial and corporate experience gives her a depth of perspective that will be valuable to our clients.”

Jones’ broad practice experience encompasses representing financial institutions, private equity and hedge fund sponsors, and other public and private companies (both lenders and borrowers) in the negotiation, structuring and documentation of complex domestic and cross-border secured and unsecured finance transactions. She also advises on general corporate matters, including corporate governance and commercial and technology transactions.

Jones was selected by Lawyers of Color to the inaugural “Hot List” of 100 accomplished attorneys in the eastern region of New York in 2013. Active in the community, Jones has extensive pro bono experience working with organizations such as the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, The Legal Aid Society, the Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law and the United Nations Women’s Guild. She currently serves on the board of the New York City Chapter of UPWARD Women. Jones earned a B.A., cum laude, from Wake Forest University and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. She frequently contributes to the alumni engagements of both institutions.
