I am counsel in the firm’s New Ventures practice group. I focus my practice on advising and representing startups and growth-stage companies in business transactional matters.

My practice typically involves acting as quasi-in-house counsel to companies throughout their life cycles, which can include advising on choice of entity and entity formation, capitalization and equity issues, governance matters, fundraising, early-stage employment matters, intellectual property issues, and drafting and negotiating commercial arrangements. I’ve represented clients across a variety of industries, such as consumer products, food and beverage, health care, software and other technologies. I graduated from DePaul University (B.A.) in 2009 and Chicago-Kent College of Law (J.D.) in 2014.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, attending concerts and following English Premier League soccer.

Thompson Hine’s New Ventures team is proud to support P33 Speed Round in its efforts to increase the velocity of early-stage startup fundraising success. Speed Round focuses on helping Chicagoland Pre-Seed to Series A founders fundraise (industry agnostic). Speed Round founders are assigned a coach who will provide regular 1:1 and group meetings over a 6-month period. They gain a high-level assessment of key business validation and fundraising metrics and gaps that cause barriers to growth and scale. American Bar Association Fall 2023 Event

The American Bar Association hosted its Fall 2023 event in Chicago earlier this month. <a href="https://www.thompsonhine.com/professionals/lindsay-karas-stencel/">Lindsay Karas Stencel</a> had the privilege of repping the USA in a discussion focused on international expansion for companies with Jeeva Rajagopal (India), César Gálvez (Chile), Ignacio Lacasa (Spain/EU) and Steve Wilson (UK). The panel discussed what investors need to be cognizant of, what boards of directors need to consider, tax issues and growth opportunities. Thanks to the American Bar Association Private Equity and Venture Capital Committee for arranging this discussion and inviting Thompson Hine to participate.
