Steve is counsel in the firm’s Commercial &amp; Public Finance practice group. He focuses his practice on corporate trust matters, banking and capital markets transactions, derivatives, structured products, margin requirements, regulatory and compliance matters related to derivatives, ISDA documentation, Dodd-Frank, Volcker, and other innovative transactions.

Prior to joining Thompson Hine, Steve gained extensive experience providing strategic guidance and advice to some of the world’s largest and most complex international financial institutions (including as a Managing Director for one of Europe’s largest banks for eight years and as Associate General Counsel for one of Japan’s largest banks for nine years). Steve has advised senior management, trading desks and derivatives businesses on the creation and development of new and innovative products. While in-house Steve had primary responsibility for all legal and regulatory aspects of international derivatives businesses, provided guidance for numerous implementation projects related to Dodd-Frank and Volcker, and played a leading role in the successful establishment of Swap Dealers.
