Thompson Hine’s Spotlight on Women Awarded as Best National Firm Gender Diversity Initiative

Cleveland - June 20, 2012 -Thompson Hine LLP is pleased to announce that it has again been nationally recognized for its leadership in advancing women within the legal profession. The inaugural Euromoney Legal Media Group Americas Women in Business Law Awards honored the firm's women's initiative, Spotlight on Women, as the best gender diversity initiative by a national firm.
In addition, the firm was shortlisted in two categories - best national firm for women in business law and best national firm for talent management for its Spotlight on Leaders program, which provides nonpartner women lawyers with leadership development opportunities through a series of intensive meetings, events and workshops with the firm's senior leadership, renowned subject experts and successful executives.
This news follows on the heels of the announcement a few weeks ago that the firm was named a Top 100 Law Firm for Women by Multicultural Law magazine.
Thompson Hine, through the efforts of Spotlight on Women and its Diversity & Inclusion Initiative, is committed to attracting, retaining and supporting a diverse workforce. The strength of that commitment is most evident in the makeup of the firm's leadership, with a woman serving as the firms managing partner and 50 percent of its Executive Committee comprised of women and minorities.Women and minorities also serve as practice group leaders and office partners-in-charge.

Deborah Z. Read, Thompson Hine's newly elected managing partner, emphasized, "Our strong dedication to inclusiveness at all levels at the firm yields better results for our business and our clients." Read is one of only 10 women in the role of managing partner at Am Law 200 firms.
The Americas Women in Business Law Award is the latest in a series of accolades the firm has received for its commitment to workplace diversity. In the last several months the firm received the Best-in-Class award for Middle Market Senior Management Diversity from the Commission on Economic Inclusion, a program of the Greater Cleveland Partnership, for "building and maintaining a diverse and inclusive organization," the first law firm to receive such an award, two inaugural Diversity & Inclusion Innovation Awards recently presented by the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and was named as a Top 100 Law Firm for Women by MultiCultural Law magazine. In addition, Thompson Hine received recognition by the National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) and Flex-Time Lawyers as a Best Law Firm for Women, recognition by The Project for Attorney Retention as a top-tier firm for the promotion and advancement of women, and selection by The Women in Law Empowerment Forum as one of only 50 U.S. law firms to receive its Gold Standard Certification.
