Williger and Wilson Receive Burton Award

May 2, 2005

Press Release

Steve Williger and Robin Wilson have been selected to receive the 2005 Burton Award for Legal Achievement, which honors excellence in legal writing. Steve and Robin won the award for an article they co-wrote last year for the University of Richmond Journal of Law and Technology titled, "Negotiating the Minefields of Electronic Discovery." The article discusses the multi-step response that is required to ensure that a responding party fulfills its discovery obligations relating to the preservation and collection of electronic information, and advises as to the processes necessary for companies to respond to discovery requests seeking such information.

The Burton Award is presented in association with the Law Library of Congress, and this year will honor 30 winners selected from nominations from the top 600 law firms in the United States and 10 winners from leading U.S. law schools. The submissions, nominated by managing partners of law firms and law school deans, include articles published over the past year. The program honors lawyers and law students who write clearly, concisely and precisely. This year's awards ceremony will be held in Washington, D.C., in the Great Hall in the Library of Congress on June 6.
