Overview

Thompson Hine has announced the appointment of two new practice group leaders. Laura A. Ryan has been appointed to lead the firm's Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation group, and Stephen Richey has been named leader of the firm's Labor & Employment group. Ryan and Richey succeed Timothy R. Brown and Keith P. Spiller, who were recently elected to the firm's Executive Committee.

Ryan began her career at Thompson Hine in 1995. She is responsible for providing employee benefits and executive compensation advice and services to some of the firm's largest clients. In 2001 she left the firm to join the in-house legal department of a $2.8 billion global corporation, then rejoined Thompson Hine in 2005. Ryan received her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law and her B.S., cum laude, from Northern Kentucky University. She is licensed to practice in Ohio.

Richey joined Thompson Hine in 1995 and represents employers in significant class action lawsuits in federal court and in matters before the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission. He is on the Executive Committee of the Federal Bar Association for the Southern District of Ohio and also serves on the district's Local Rules Committee. Richey received his J.D. from the Salmon P. Chase College of Law, summa cum laude; his M.Ed., summa cum laude, fromXavier University; and his B.A., cum laude, from Xavier University. He is licensed to practice in Ohio and Kentucky.
