Thompson Hine Partner Named Chemed Board Chair

Thompson Hine LLP partner George J. Walsh III has been elected non-executive chair of the board of Chemed Corporation. His election was announced by Chemed on March 18, 2009.

"I am pleased and honored to be named chair of the board of Chemed - a great company that operates two very strong and profitable businesses - while continuing my ongoing responsibilities as partner-in-charge of Thompson Hine's New York office," says Walsh.

Chemed, headquartered in Cincinnati, is an NYSE-listed company (symbol CHE) with $1.1 billion in sales. The company's operating units are VITAS Healthcare, which operates the largest end-of-life hospice care business in the country, and Roto-Rooter, which operates the largest plumbing and drain cleaning business in the country.

Walsh has been a member of Chemed's board for 14 years, having served as chair of the Compensation/Incentive Committee, chair of the Nominating Committee and a member of the board's Executive Committee.

Walsh is a member of Thompson Hine's Real Estate and Corporate Transactions & Securities practice groups. He has more than 30 years' experience in real estate law. His national, regional and local practice includes all aspects of purchasing, selling, leasing and financing commercial properties. He has represented a wide cross-section of retailers located both in the United States and abroad. His clients include large national chains, department store anchor tenants and "big box" mass merchandisers.
