Our City

Columbus is the seat of Ohio's state government and home to The Ohio State University. With more than 1.75 million metropolitan area residents, Columbus is at the heart of the largest concentration of population and economic activity in North America. Already the second-fastest growing major metropolitan area in the Midwest, the entire community is seizing new opportunities to propel Greater Columbus into the ranks of the nation's most innovative, attractive and business-friendly communities.

In addition to the Arena District, which includes 18,500-seat Nationwide Arena, home of the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets, Columbus is home to the OSU Buckeyes, Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew, the PGA Memorial Tournament, and Huntington Park home of the Columbus Clippers.

Columbus provides many avenues for cultural enrichment, including The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, ranked as the number one zoo in the United States and the Center of Science and Industry (COSI), ranked as the number one science center in the United States. Columbus is also home to the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, BalletMet, the Columbus Museum of Art, Opera Columbus and the Wexner Center for the Arts.
