Professional Experience

Bill practices in the Firm's Product Liability Litigation and Construction practice groups. He regularly counsels clients on mass tort and class action litigation. He focuses his practice on risk avoidance, litigation, and dispute resolution concerning commercial, consumer, and building products, injuries to persons and property, and claims involving owners, contractors, architects, engineers, construction managers, and other construction professionals.

Bill has both trial and arbitration experience and has argued before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and the 8th Appellate District of Ohio. Bill is admitted to practice in the State of Ohio, the United States District Court for the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

  • Chemical manufacturers and trade associations in various state and federal mass and toxic tort suits involving claims of intentional tort, fraud, and civil conspiracy
  • Civil engineer in class action litigation regarding flooding.
  • Appliance manufacturer in negligence suits stemming from the growth of mold in plaintiffs' workplace.
  • Wall component manufacturer in various suits alleging product liability and breach of warranty claims stemming from the growth of mold in hotels and nursing homes.
  • Project Management Consultant in negligent highway design claim relating to violations of the Clean Water Act and Oil Pollution Act.
  • Manufacturer of waste heat recovery boilers and pollution control equipment in dispute alleging defective design and manufacture.
  • Construction Manager and Construction Engineer in wrongful death case.
  • Building product manufacturers, including manufacturers of valves and supply lines, in subrogation claims alleging product defect resulting in flood damage.
  • HVAC engineer in sick building syndrome litigation.
  • Construction manager in delay claims litigation.
  • Companies in negligence suits stemming from company vehicle incidents.
  • Installer and Supplier of industrial warehouse racking system in breach of contract and product defect dispute.
  • Automobile and other consumer product manufacturers in product liability and breach of warranty suits, including consumer class actions.
  • Property owners in premises liability litigation, including oral argument before the 8th Appellate District of Ohio in which summary judgment was affirmed.
