Kent is a registered patent attorney and an associate in the Intellectual Property and Life Sciences practice groups. He focuses his practice on all aspects of intellectual property law, including patent preparation and prosecution; foreign patent prosecution; and the preparation of freedom to operate, non-infringement, and invalidity opinions, with an emphasis in biotechnology and life sciences.
While at the University of Colorado Technology Transfer Office, Kent performed patentability analyses on new invention disclosures, and performed market and competitive analyses on technologies to identify potential licensees and technology value. Prior to his work at the Technology Transfer Office, Kent was a faculty researcher at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Barbara Davis Center for Childhood Diabetes, and also at the University's Department of Pharmacology. Kent served in the U.S. Army from 1984-1986.
Kent is licensed to practice in Ohio and the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
