John is counsel in the firm's Intellectual Property, Emerging Technologies and Life Sciences practice groups. He focuses his practice on all aspects of intellectual property law, including patent preparation and prosecution before the United States Patent and Trademark Office; foreign patent prosecution; re-examination practice; intellectual property licensing; intellectual property due diligence investigations; patent issues relating to Hatch-Waxman; infringement matters and patentability opinions.
Prior to joining the firm, John was employed as a project engineer at Standard Register Company, where he was involved in various technical areas. He was co-inventor on U.S. Patent No. 5,197,765, "Varying Tone Securing Documents".
John is admitted to practice in Ohio and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Adhesives, pharmaceuticals, chemistry, biotechnology, polymers, alloys, metallurgy, paper, microencapsulation, carbonless paper, inks, specialty coatings, personal care compositions, secure documents, spectrophotometry, densitometry and printing.
