Professional Experience
Heather is counsel in the firm's Real Estate practice group. She focuses her practice on the representation of institutional investors, owners and developers in the acquisition, development, disposition and leasing of commercial real estate. Heather also represents borrowers and lenders in construction and permanent financing. She has extensive experience in large multistate transactions, as well as complex property operating agreements.
Prior to joining Thompson Hine, Heather was Senior Corporate Counsel for a privately held real estate services firm and practiced six years for a full service law firm in Atlanta, Georgia. Heather is admitted to practice in Georgia and Ohio.

- Represented privately-held developer in the completion of 1031 tax-free exchange transfers
- Representation of seller in the $64,000,000 portfolio sale of six properties
- Representation of borrower in the $48,000,000 refinancing of a multi-family housing community
- Represented one of the nation's largest retail companies in the acquisition and development of new store sites, and the disposition of surplus property
- Counsel for leading wireless communications companies in multistate joint ventures, market dispositions, and sale lease-back transactions
- Representation of both landlords and tenants in the leasing of retail space, office space and industrial parks
- Counsel to developers and tenants in drafting and negotiation of site development and property operating agreements
- Lead real estate counsel for foreign chemical company's acquisition, development and financing of a $40,000,000 manufacturing plant, which included state and county tax abatements, grants and other subsidies
- Representation to both developers and retailers in the negotiation of shopping center restrictions and easement agreements
- Lead real estate counsel for non-profit continuing care retirement facility in the development, expansion and renovation of its existing facilities, which included $73,000,000 in tax-exempt financing
