Beverly is a registered patent attorney and a partner in the firm's Intellectual Property and Life Sciences practice groups. A former faculty member at the medical campus of the University of Tennessee, she focuses her practice on chemical, medical, and life sciences patent evaluation, enforcement, transactions, and prosecution, as well as handling trademark, trade secret, and copyright matters. She is active in Thompson Hine's Private Equity/Venture Capital Services team, focusing on intellectual property uses in business.
Prior to joining Thompson Hine, Beverly was a partner at an Intellectual Property boutique. She holds an appointment as Adjunct Professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Law, where she has developed and teaches Licensing Intellectual Property. She also lectures on biotechnology patent prosecution for the Patent Resources Group (PRG). As an academic, she has authored numerous scientific publications, including chapters in clinical texts and a biochemistry study guide. As a registered clinical laboratory scientist, she has worked in hematology, microbiology, and clinical chemistry laboratories.
Beverly is admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark office and in the States of Ohio and Georgia.
