About Our Keynote Speaker

Steve Shafer is the chief investment officer and portfolio manager at Covenant Financial Services, a multi-strategy, multi-asset global macro hedge fund manager with approximately $270 million in assets under management that manages monies for high net worth individuals and institutional investors.

Mr. Shafer earned a B.B.A. in economics and finance from the University of Oklahoma in 1993. After beginning his investment career on the mortgage-backed securities sales and trading desks of Lehman Brothers in Boston, Dallas and New York from 1992 to 1994, he left Lehman Brothers to attend the London School of Economics, where he earned an MSc in 1995. On returning to the United States, he founded Opportunity Capital Advisors, Inc., an independent registered investment advisory firm. In early 2002 he began a joint working relationship with Scott Duncan, founder of Covenant Financial Services, Inc. In 2004 Mr. Shafer co-founded Covenant Financial Services, LLC.
