Technology - Lawyer Toolkits

 

Our lawyer toolkits include hardware/communications, remote access, and electronic research tools.

Hardware/Communications

All lawyers are supplied with either a laptop or a desktop computer. The firm also provides presentation equipment for our lawyers including projectors and "loaner laptops" and any other equipment necessary for trials and litigation projects. Lawyers have access to PC Support Specialists and a 24-hour technology emergency pager. In-house technology training is also provided on an on-going basis.

Each desk is provided with a digital telephone desk set that will allow up to six people to be conferenced. An outside teleconferencing service allows for "reservation-less" teleconferences from any location at any time. Every office is provided with state-of-the-art video conferencing equipment that can interact with just about every major system on the market.

Our intranet, INSIDE, provides our lawyers with access to a myriad of tools such as a phone directory and library resources. Lawyers can also retrieve practice-specific documents from our document management system and access various databases pertaining to past experience and transactions.

Remote Access

Our lawyers enjoy several options for working remotely which allows them to virtually work from anywhere. All lawyers have the ability to retrieve their voicemail from any telephone. In addition, all lawyers can access their email, documents, databases, and firm-specific applications from just about any computer that is connected to the Internet. Remote access tools include:

  • Citrix MetaFrame and Citrix Web
  • Outlook Web Access
  • Wireless email through GoodLink Technology
  • Extranet services for lawyers and clients
  • Remote access of voicemail from any phone
  • Laptops equipped for both broadband and dial-up connections

Electronic Research

We employ a full-time professional library staff that provides a host of research services to lawyers and staff. Lawyers have access to major online legal research portals, as well as electronic forms and court dockets.
